Personal Statement Workshop for Law School Applicants
Students who are currently in Pre-Law and those interested in the program, are invited to attend the Personal Statement Workshop for Law School Applicants, which is typically held early in the Spring semester. There, you will get to work on your personal statement with support from the HASS Hub and Student Success Writing Lab.
The New York State Assembly Internship Program offers Undergraduate and Graduate students a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand experience in state government. Interns work full‑time in an Assemblymember’s office, completing research and administrative tasks while earning academic credit and participating in coursework led by Professors‑in‑Residence. The program provides professional growth, résumé‑building experience, and a stipend. Open to students from all majors, the internship seeks motivated individuals who demonstrate maturity, curiosity, and strong academic potential. For students interested in policy or public service, it offers a meaningful foundation for future career paths.

During the fall and spring semesters, we’re excited to announce that a representative from the New York State Assembly will visit campus. Undergraduate and Graduate students are invited to stop by, meet our guests, and learn more about their work serving communities across New York State.
This is a great opportunity to:
- Ask questions about state government and public policy
- Hear firsthand about life working in public service
- Learn how students can get involved through internships and community engagement
About the Internship:
The NYS Assembly Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students the chance to gain real‑world experience in legislative offices. Interns assist with policy research, communications, district outreach, and the day‑to‑day operations of a legislative team. It’s an excellent opportunity for students interested in government, law, public service, communication, or community engagement. Interns build professional skills, make connections in state government, and contribute to impactful legislative work. This is a paid opportunity during the spring semester. All students are welcome - whether you’re exploring career options or are curious about state government.

After looking through our resources, you may realize that your next step toward Law School is to switch to a HASS Major or to add a HASS Dual. By formally adding a HASS Degree, you will be assigned to one of our esteemed Faculty Advisors and a HASS Hub Advising Team member. This advising team will become a great resource to keeping you on track with your Law School ambitions.

Drop-ins outside of these hours are accommodated when possible, but are not guaranteed.
- 5-to-10-minute questions
- Perfect for questions about minors, Pathways, and/or support with forms
- Sign up for remote drop-ins (will be reviewed between 2 and 4 pm on weekdays)
If you cannot attend our weekly drop-ins, you are welcome to email us. Please allow 2 to 3 business days for a response. We may still recommend meeting with one of our Advisors in a drop-in or meeting, depending on the context of your question.
