The HASS Hub is staffed by experienced advisors who offer academic support for undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. We assist students in achieving their academic goals, developing unique Plans of Study, and addressing any curriculum questions.
Kayleigh Aston '14 | Hub Advisor
Kayleigh, RPI Class of 2014, has first-hand experience as an RPI student. After graduation, Kayleigh earned her MS at The College of Saint Rose before moving to New Jersey. She moved back to Troy in 2021 to join the RPI Admissions team before joining The Hub in 2023. At home, Kayleigh enjoys cooking/baking, reading, and playing video games with her husband and puppy Ted.

Kate Mertus | Hub Advisor
After graduating from SUNY Oneonta, Kate developed a love of working with college students through her work in Financial Aid at Russell Sage. Outside of work Kate enjoys cooking, baking, yoga, reading (talk to her about fantasy books,) and spending time with her cats Juniper and Fiona.

Sue Jordan | Hub Advisor
Sue earned her BA at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and her MA at Teachers College, Columbia University. Sue has spent over a decade working with college students, their families, and alumni, both at MIT and Columbia University. Sue and her family relocated to the Capital region from New York City in the summer of 2024. Born and raised in Maine, Sue spends most of her free time outside. She also loves reading, knitting, and is always happy to discuss the latest news on the WNBA, NWSL, Red Sox, and Celtics.

Kristin Bergene | HASS Hub Manager
Kristin earned her BA from SUNY Oneonta, and her MS from Kingston University, London. Having worked nearly a decade in higher education, Kristin began in Career Services before transitioning into Academic Advising in 2018. She has been part of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences since May 2023, supporting the HASS Hub and team of Academic Advisors as Manager. Kristin is an avid reader, and artist, who dabbles in gaming with her husband and friends.
