To help you transition to RPI’s School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, the Business Office
created this welcome packet designed to answer many of the frequently asked questions.
Per the Office of Export Control (ECO), every envelope and package being sent to a destination outside of the United States, or to a foreign national within or outside the US, must be logged through the ECO.BEFORE MAILING ANYTHING TO A NON-USA DESTINATION OR FOREIGN NATIONAL IN OR OUTSIDE OF THE US, please make a copy of the item’s mailing/shipping label (regardless of which courier is used), and fill out the Foreign Mail Form. Scan and send the mailing label and completed form to:Export Control.
The School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) provides limited professional travel funding to graduate students in support of their research, for example for ethnographic research or for research presentation at an established conference or venue.
The Graduate Student Professional Meeting travel grant supports current Rensselaer Graduate Students who
attend a professional society meeting to present a poster or paper. Requests for funding to present seminars or
lectures at other Universities will not be considered.
Graduate Student Professional Meeting Travel Request Guidelines
The Student Research & Creative Activity (SRCA) grants in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing HASS majors in undertaking research and artistic projects, either individually or in groups. These projects may be curricular where appropriate, may build on projects developed in HASS courses, or may be designed outside of any course.
HASS Student Research & Creative Activity (SRCA) Grant
This form will be used to determine the nature of expenses being reimbursed in accordance with IRS Publication 515, Withholding of Tax on Non-Resident Aliens and Foreign Entities.
Use this form to track technology items costing over $600 purchased for faculty and staff.
