Policies and Forms
Cyber citizenship refers to what it means to be a participant in the online or cyber community, or to be a user of information networks and their resources. The Cyber Citizenship Policy outlines the rights, responsibilities, privileges, and prohibitions for members of the Rensselaer community when using information networks and their resources.
This document serves to provide guidelines to individuals who intend to post content on any social media platforms which represent the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) and thus Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). Topics include social media content, style, and best practices. This document also lightly covers the privacy of individuals and their information. If you are unsure about how something you would like to post will be received, please contact our Digital Media Specialist for guidance. This is meant to be a living document, continually updated as the social media landscape changes, and certain policies may change over time.
Technical Support
Despite the best efforts of IT administrators refining email filters, spam/phishing email attempts will sometimes get through. Please follow the link below for instructions on what to do with phishing attempts and help keep the network secure.
If you are having trouble logging in to the network or your applications, or if software is crashing on your computer, you should open a support ticket with DotCIO.
If your issue is with hardware connectivity either with your computer or classroom systems, please contact one of our Senior Media Engineers.
If your RPI issued computer is defective or damaged and in need of repair, please contact the Operations Manager if you are faculty or staff, and DotCIO if you are a student.
