On Earth Day, we celebrate our local voices in their eloquent calls for environmental justice and clean air in the Hudson Mohawk region. We focus on local media makers who are creating media as an organizing tool, whose work shines light on the power of personal voice.

Mariam Elasser (COMD/EART) selected as one of the 2021 Winners of DesignRush Global Student Design Competition
Mariam Elasser (COMD/EART) was selected as one of the 2021 Winners of DesignRush Global Student Design Competition for their graphic design work on the RISD Museum Rebranding. DesignRush ran a global design competition for students across three categories - logo design, graphic design, and UI design. The purpose of the competition was to recognize the best emerging talent in the global market.

Virtual Spring Concert
On May 8th, student musicians from the Rensselaer Fusion Ensemble presented their work from the Spring 2021 semester. The program included live recordings from EMPAC, studio recordings from the DCC Media Studio, and asynchronous collaborations. The repertoire reflected a wide diversity of styles and historical periods, including classical chamber music, jazz, Renaissance choral music, and popular songs.

School of HASS announces Rensselaer Orchestra and Concert Choir Auditions
The School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences is pleased to announce that the Rensselaer Orchestra and Concert Choir are re-instated this Fall. Both were on hiatus during the 2020-2021 academic year because of COVID restrictions.
The ensembles will rehearse twice weekly:
Augmented Senses: Feminist Queer Augmented and Virtual Realities symposium
Augmented and virtual reality have become commonplace. The Augmented Senses: Feminist Queer Augmented/Virtual Reality virtual symposium highlights experimental and creative approaches to enhanced immersive experiences. Focusing on gender, trans, and feminist themes around the body, desire, biological art, and our microbial environment, three contemporary artists will present their work: Micha Cárdenas, Eva Davidova, and Amy M. Youngs.
