2023 Rensselaer Concerto Competition Winners

The Final Round of the 2023 Rensselaer Concerto Competition was held in the Chapel and Cultural Center on Wednesday, April 19th.  Seven student finalists auditioned in front of a faculty jury for the opportunity to perform a movement of a concerto with the Rensselaer Orchestra during the 2023-24 Academic Year.

Electronic Arts RPI Exhibition June 9 - June 18

The RPI Electronic Arts exhibition showcases a host of immersive and interactive audio-visual installations, multichannel music compositions, and performances featuring live coding, and a special live event featuring Pauline Oliveros’ Expanded Instrument System (EIS).

Opening Friday June 9, 2023 and Closing Sunday June 18, 2023

CogWorks Lab Recruiting for Paid Study

The CogWorks Lab (Department of Cognitive Science) here at RPI is recruiting participants 18 years of age and older for a paid research study investigating long-term skill acquisition in cooperative behavior, using a cooperative cooking video game.

The study consists of 11, 1-hour sessions. 8 of these sessions will involve playing a video game, and 3 sessions will involve completing a battery of cognitive tasks assessing various facets of cognitive performance.

As AI marches on and claims more corners of our human world – from gene sequencing to creative writing to self-driving cars to population modeling, and on and on – two questions arise: Does AI understand its surroundings? Does AI understand us?

September Game Jam

RPI's Game Dev Club is hosting its first game jam of the year starting on Friday, September 22 at 6pm! Kick off the fall and join us once again (or for the first time!) for a 48-hour jam in which you'll form teams and design your own game from scratch. Students of all years, areas of study, and experience levels are welcome to participate!
