2023 McKinney Student Writing Awards Announced

Guggenheim Fellow and Lanan Literary Award-Winner, author Gish Jen, spoke at the McKinney Writing Contest Awards ceremony on April 12th. The McKinney Contest recognizes top writers in the Rensselaer student community. An average of 250 students enter each year to compete for a total of more than $4,000. Prizes are awarded for undergraduate and graduate students in: Poetry, Creative Prose and Drama, Academic Essay, and Electronic Mixed Media Using Language.

GameFest 2023

Presented by the Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences (GSAS) Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, GameFest is an annual celebration of student creativity and innovation in the broader fields of analog and digital game design. The two-day event takes the form of a game development showcase, symposium, and competition with prizes awarded by a panel of local industry experts.

The Rensselaer Orchestra and Concert Choir are collaborating with the Empire State Youth Orchestra and the Swiss-based music visualization firm Music:Eyes. The collaboration will feature new works by Rensselaer Arts Faculty Matthew Goodheart and Christopher Fisher-Lochhead, as well as guest performances by Rensselaer Arts Faculty Jillian Willis and Katherine Skovira.
