Justin Dowdall

Justin’s work is situated within the intersection of Community Engaged HCI, UX and Media Ecology. His dissertation, titled “Theorizing in a Society of Nature: A Grounded Theory Analysis of Permaculture Online and Textual Discourse” explores how contemporary ecological designers imagine and reimagine their relationship with the built and unbuilt environment. He has presented his work at HCI International, Harvard University, the National Academy of Sciences, and the Future of Senses III conference among others.

Mitch Murray

Mitch R. Murray is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication and Media. He specializes in contemporary literature, science fiction, multiethnic literatures of the United States and Canada, and comics studies. His teaching focuses on how the creative practices of reading and writing make us better interpreters and creators of our shared social reality.Murray’s recent publications include the collection William Gibson and the Futures of Contemporary Culture, co-edited with Mathias Nilges, for the University of Iowa Press’s New American Canon series.

Corinne Jones

Corinne Jones studies digital rhetoric, digital communication, technical and professional communication, and social media. Corinne is particularly interested in digital activism. Corinne has published twice in First Monday, twice in the Special Interest Group on Design of Communication (SIGDOC), as well as in Computers and Composition Online, Computers and Composition; Media, Culture, and Society; Information, Communication, and Society.

Benj Gleeksman

Benj is an artist, art director and graphic designer who has worked in various creative capacities for the last 25 years. Benj’s artwork, which combines texture, painting, drawing, collage and typography, has been shown in more than thirty group and solo shows and his photography has been published in Thrasher Magazine and Adirondack Life. He has worked as a designer and art director at large and small companies, as a freelancer, and has focused much of his design work on regional non-profits and art-based organizations.
