The Department of Arts features an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to the musical arts with a focus on the use of experimental techniques and methodologies in artistic conception, creation, and performance. The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree, doctorate preferred, or foreign degree equivalent in music or a related field and have successful teaching experience at the collegiate level. A minimum of three years of professional experience with an emerging national reputation as an artist and/or scholar is preferred. We are seeking a candidate with a creative practice and/or scholarly engagement with Afro-Diasporic music cultures, which may include composition and improvisation, technology-based practices, or jazz or popular music studies. Teaching responsibilities may include history, cultural and critical studies, performance, improvisation, composition and arranging, and core courses from the curriculum.
