Major: PSYS and Business and Management
I’m really interested in human behavior and love solving problems. At the beginning of my freshman year, I intended to major in Business and Management and minor in Psychological Science. I ended up enjoying my psychology courses so much that I decided to double major. After graduation plan to work in consulting and go to graduate school. I hope to apply the knowledge I gain and my passion for problem solving to help organizations overcome obstacles and remove inefficiencies.
Minor/Pathway: Understanding Human Behavior
Favorite Class: My favorite psychology course so far was Research Methods II. I really enjoyed designing my own research study and liked how the hypothesis testing concepts we learned applied to my other courses as well.
Internships/Work Experiences: Clean Energy Analyst Intern at Blackcurrant, Inc.; Summer Intern at Piraeus Bank; Turnaround & Restructuring Intern at FTI Consulting
Clubs/Organizations: RPI Men's Basketball (Captain), Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President, Epsilon Delta Sigma Management Honor Society, RPI Student-Athlete Mentoring Program (Lead Mentor)
Arch Away Semester: I chose the Self-Design option for my Arch Away Semester. I interned as clean energy analyst at Blackcurrant Inc., an Al-driven B2B digital marketplace for hydrogen and other low-carbon fuels. My goals for my independent learning experience were to help increase the revenue for Blackcurrant Inc. generated from business won, increase the number of customers onboarded onto the Blackcurrant platform, and increase engagement on Blackcurrant’s LinkedIn profile. During my time at Blackcurrant, I conducted customer analysis, collected market data, and developed whitepapers related to hydrogen and other low-carbon fuels, all of which expanded my understanding of hydrogen and low-carbon fuel markets. As a member of the Business Development team, I helped enhance sales funnel efficiency and standardize the customer onboarding process, leading to an approximately 50% increase in potential revenues.
Advice for students preparing for their Arch experience: Given my experience, I would advise any student selecting ILE Self Design as an option to set measurable objectives/outcomes and consider how their semester away experience fits into their educational journey and professional development. Having measurable goals will make it easier to ensure that their semester away experience is beneficial to them because they can track if they are achieving their goals. It is important for students to view their semester away experience in the grand scheme of things because the semester away experience is supposed to help them transfer what they are learning at RPI into their lives and careers.
What you enjoy the most outside of school: Playing sports and dancing
Advice for incoming or prospective students: Get relevant experience as early as possible! Don't wait until you are an upperclassmen to find internships. Join clubs/organizations that are relevant to what type of job you want in the future.
