Biography: Sophia is a PhD student and teacher who developed a digital history map called "My Hudson History." The project maps historically significant sites across New York’s Hudson Valley for young learners. Sophia is interested in how technology can be used to reform history education.

In 2022, she graduated from SUNY New Paltz with her teaching degree and received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence for her contributions to NY public history education. In 2024, she earned an M.A. in Computing in Education from Columbia University.

When not studying, Sophia enjoys listening to rock by the Hudson River, teaching kindergarteners the difference between Playdoh and Plato, watching movies with her fiancé, and making blueberry pancakes. Email:  acquis@rpi.edu
