Biography: Lucy Yanow (she/her) hails from unceded Ramaytush Ohlone land of San Francisco/Oakland, California. She just finished her Master’s degree in Bioethics and Society from King’s College London. Previous to returning to academia she worked for 17 years in direct service reproduction in a variety of capacities. Lucy is grateful for the frameworks offered by critical theory and science and technology studies that offers space to dream about care, community and activism beyond the heartbreaking realities of direct service. In her spare time she hangs out with her cat Elvira, dog Lemmy (and currently a cute family of foster kittens, lmk if you want a cat) knitting and watching the Criterion Chanel. She can sometimes be found traveling the world learning other languages and visiting UNESCO World Heritage spa towns. Email: yanowl@rpi.edu
