Please join the Quantum Music Workshop with Dr. Scott Oshiro! Dr. Oshiro is an Asian Improv aRts fellow, developing quantum computer music improvisation systems for an album featuring BIPOC artists, showcasing the connection between music and quantum physics. This hands-on workshop offers an introduction to quantum computing with a focus on developing computer music applications. The building blocks and fundamentals of quantum computing (qubits, superposition entanglement, interference, etc.) will be covered followed by sections on quantum algorithms and how they are used in current quantum computer music applications. We will also cover quantum representations of digital audio signals along with a preview of different quantum hardware. This event will finish with a lecture with Dr. Oshiro on Friday, 11/22.
*NOTE, space for this in-person workshop is limited. To register please email Dr. Rob Hamilton: hamilr4@rpi.edu
