04.08.2026 | 2 - 6 PM (EST) | AT:TENSION | Neurodiverse Sensing, Intelligences, and Dialogue in the Face of Uncertainty | 2026 International Symposium on Assistive Technologies for Music and Art (ISATMA·26)
ISATMA·26 is an art-sci-tech platform for practicing complexity through the intersection of neurodiverse and queer attention. AT:TENSION | Neurodiverse Sensing, Intelligences, and Dialogue in the Face of Uncertainty brings attention to our attention through various modes of dialogue. How do we define dialogue? If information is sensed, processed, and exchanged between all intelligent systems, then we can imagine dialogue at other-than-human scales by examining our own. Opening up neurodiverse and queer ways of knowing ourselves–as processes, nested within processes–transdisciplinary artists, musicians, and thinkers indira allegra, Allison Leigh Holt, Joseph Latka, and Sarah Cameron Sunde pair in three hybrid sessions. allegra and Holt engage media art, ritual, and dialogue as forms of enacted mind; in an immersive performance, Holt and Latka model the flows of information in dialogue, and their autonomous forms; and Latka and Sunde guide participants on a nature walk to experience those flows with more-than-human intelligences, including the waters of the Mahannittuk - Hudson, which connect directly to the New York Canal System. Please join us for these sessions taking place in CRAIVE-Lab’s 360º A/V environment and online. The full event opens and closes with 30-minute periods reserved for rest, surrounded by ambient sound and moving image, and is free to the public.
