Electronic Arts, Minor

Program Overview

The Electronic Arts Minor allows students to study a range of approaches to electronic, or digital arts, such as digital imaging, graphic storytelling, interactive media, and 3D animation. This immersive study will give students a comprehensive view of how to use digital tools to tell stories, and to critically and creatively explore the arts at the intersection of the humanities, and the physical, computational, engineering, and social sciences.

Course topics may include:

  • History/Theory
  • Art History
  • World Music
  • The Multimedia Century
  • Exploring Music @Rensselaer
  • Western Music Appreciation

Studio courses may include:

  • Digital Imaging
  • Digital Filmmaking
  • Drawing
  • Music and Sound 
  • Art for Interactive Media
