Open-Rank Tenure-Track Position: Experimental and Spatial Digital Humanities
School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is part of the search for multiple open-rank, tenure track positions at the intersections of the Humanities and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) to begin Fall 2022.
Ideal candidates for a position in Experimental and Spatial Digital Humanities will be a humanities scholar with a demonstrated commitment to research and pedagogy in the humanities through immersive virtual environments at human scale. The ideal candidates will be enthusiastic about pursuing joint and collaborative research with faculty and researchers across the Institute pursuing advances in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML). The School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences offers a wide range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary programs at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels across the Departments of Arts, Economics, Cognitive Science, Communication & Media, and Science & Technology Studies, and a nationally ranked program in Games and Simulation Arts & Sciences.
Possible research domains include but are not limited to: cultural heritage through immersive digital spaces, extended reality design for public humanities engagement, visual digital humanities, and human perception and cognition in immersive extended reality environments at human scale.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or foreign degree equivalent at the time of appointment.
