Dr. Ronni Pavan, Associate Professor of Economics at the School of Arts & Sciences, University of Rochester, New York, is the featured speaker at this week's Economics Seminar on Wednesday, October 26, at 2:00 pm in Sage Labs 4711. Dr. Pavan's talk will examine "Parental Beliefs and Investment in Children: The Distortionary Impact of Schools."
Dr. Pavan holds a doctorate in Economics from the University of Chicago. He was a member of the Economics Department at Royal Holloway, University of London from 2013 until 2015. His research focuses on labor economics, economics of education and urban economics, particularly the relationship between wages and city size. In a separate line of research, he has worked on human capital specificity and acquisition, mainly through occupational choice, major choice and parental investments.
