The Rensselaer Club is pleased to welcome back pianist Mary Simoni (Dean of HASS) and soprano Kimberley Dolanski (known to RPI colleagues as Kim Osburn) for the annual Spring Concert, Friday May 12, 5:30 pm, at the Chapel + Cultural Center, 2125 Burdett Ave at Peoples Ave in Troy.
A delightful and much-anticipated event, the Spring Concert this year will feature a selection of musical theatre works by Kander and Ebb, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim, and Jeanine Tesori. A reception with light refreshments will immediately follow.
The concert is free and open to the public; donations (via donation basket) are welcome.
Mary Simoni is a composer, pianist and author of Algorithmic Composition: A Guide to Composing Music with Nyquist (2013: University of Michigan Press), and Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Rensselaer.
Kimberley Dolanski has performed in a wide range of opera/operetta, concert, oratorio and musical theatre settings, including the Detroit Classical Revolution, conducted by Leonard Slatkin, the Great Lakes Symphony Orchestra, the Ann Arbor Comic Opera Guild, and the Traverse Symphony Orchestra. She holds an MM in Vocal Perfomance from the University of Michigan.
