First Annual Cognitive and Immersive Data Insights Application Challenge a Win for RPI Student ResearchersDate posted: 2018-06-15 12:23:14
The Center for Global Communication+Design, a/k/a Comm+D, collaborated with the Institute for Data Exploration and Applications (IDEA)/ Health INCITE, the Cognitive and Immersive Systems Lab (CISL), and the Lally School of Management on the First Annual Cognitive and Immersive Data Insights Application Challenge, which was held June 5-6, 2018.
More than 40 RPI undergraduate and graduate students competed in this inaugural challenge to create immersive, multimodal, collaborative applications using health and business datasets. In addition to cash awards, winning teams were presented with opportunities for ongoing interdisciplinary research.
A wide range of RPI majors were represented, including Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences (GSAS), Communication, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, Information Technology and Web Science (ITWS), Math, Electrical Engineering, MBA, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, and Technology Commercialization and Entrepreneurship (TCE).
