Chapel + Cultural Center

November 24, 2019 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

"Polyphony Through the Ages"

The Rensselaer Concert Choir, directed by Professor Andrew Burger, with Rebecca Benjamin, organ.

This concert will feature music across six centuries of choral literature, with works by Victoria, Palestrina, Bruckner, Poulenc, Vaughan Williams, Gjeilo, and more, performed by the Rensselaer Concert Choir. From the early rennaisance to the modern era, these works aim to show the diversity and the evolution of choral repertoire within the realm of sacred polyphonic motets and masses.
The oldest continuously performing music ensemble at RPI, the Rensselaer Concert Choir is made up of undergraduate students from a wide variety of majors and dempartments, and performs music from the dawn of written musical traditions to the present.  The Concert Choir is directed and conducted by Professor Andrew Burger.
