Peter Nowak, author of this year's Community Read Selection: Humans 3.0, will be discussing his book and upcoming work. He has been a professional writer and journalist since 1997, and a published author since 2010.
A former staff reporter and editor at The Globe and Mail, National Post and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Toronto, and the New Zealand Herald in Auckland he has been a freelancer for nearly 10 years and his columns, reviews and stories (long and short) have appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald, New Scientist magazine, the Boston Globe, the Toronto Star and many others.
In 2006, he was named Journalist of the Year by the Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand and in 2009, won the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance award for Excellence in Science and Technology Reporting.
His first book, Sex, Bombs and Burgers: How War, Porn and Fast Food Created Modern Technology As We Know It, spent several weeks on the Maclean’s best-seller list in Canada.
His second book, Humans 3.0: The Upgrading of the Species, was published in five countries and translated into two languages. Y
