During the late 1960’s and 70’s, artists and technologists designed early video tools.  In this presentation, Arts Professor Kathy High will present with accompaniment from (via Skype) Sherry Miller Hocking, co- editor and Assistant Director of the Experimental Television Center, and Dave Jones, design technologist and tool builder, examining art/science intersections and collaborations among inventors, designers, and artists creating new tools to capture and manipulate images in revolutionary ways.

The student-designed video game exhibition will begin at noon on Saturday, May 2nd, in EMPAC. James Portnow will be this year’s keynote speaker.  Best known for writing the web series Extra Credits, James Portnow is a game designer and consultant known for his theories on socially positive design.
